Chapter Fourteen

Kaiden

I watch as Holt unlocks the doors and the crowd files in, filling up the place. Since the club has been open, not one single night has gone by that the entire place isn’t packed. I’m so glad we decided to do this together.

I spot Stone and Brice down the hallway as I approach.

“Look guys, I appreciate you taking up the slack in Toryn’s absence, hopefully this whole nightmare will be over with soon.”

“Any word on his crazy yet?” Stone asks, as he slips on his halter fetish gear top, and Brice straightens it up for him.

“No, nothing yet. I’ve been watching the old apartment and so far, the guy hasn’t been back there, which sort of worries me.” I give them the ‘squash this conversation’ movement with my hand across the neck as Holton approaches.

“Ready guys?” Holt asks.

“Born ready,” Brice pipes in.

Holt slaps him on the shoulder and continues to our office area. “I have some computer work to do.” He arches his brow and walks inside.

Fuck!

I know he’s going for it, hitting the back door sites to find out what he can about this nut job, Marcus, and see what is up with Toryn, so I follow close behind him.

“Do your thing, boys, I’ll be a minute with Holt.”

“Gotcha,” Stone hollers back to me. “We’re good, boss, you just handle your thing and get my car back asap. Oh, I guess Toryn and Mickey can come too, when the time is right.” He grins and I start laughing.

The DJ cranks up the tunes, and I glance back down the hall as the light show begins, then I dip into our office and shut the door closed behind me, which breaks all our rules. We never shut the door like the slime ball did in our past, it’s a big no-no for us, same with audition couches. We own none!

“Holt, why don’t you go out and handle the crowd and I’ll do some checking.” I’m trying my best to pull him off of this, he will absolutely freak if he finds anything.

“Any word from Brax yet?” he asks me, opening the top on his laptop.

He’s not budging.

“Yes, earlier today. After seeing him the other day, he finally called and said Toryn’s mom is good to go. The cops are watching her place and patrolling the neighborhood. They seem to think he’ll show there for sure and want to be ready for him.” I clasp my hand on his shoulder, trying to lighten the mood. “I told you about Braxton and Payce right?”

“What? The Payce, like fall in love as teenagers Payce?” He looks up to me.

“Apparently so, he wants us to meet him.”

“I look forward to that.” He grins and shakes his head. “And good on the cops too, they are probably right, Kaiden, he’ll probably go for her just to torture Toryn again. I just can’t believe this sick fuck is back again.”

“I know, cowboy, I know. We did all we could on our part and the boys are safe now.
